 Review 05/06

 Best Performances 2005 / 06

League Champions - Lancashire Sportshall League 2005/6

Last seasons major win was an embarrassment to some of our rivals and knowing our opposition all too well, made me nervous, as I was organising this seasons fixtures. I knew Blackpool would close the gap us on us this season, and by the look of the wave of orange t-shirts they wanted revenge quite badly. But as they say, looks aren’t everything and what we may have lacked on quantity we more than made up for it in quality. As each meeting unfolded my nerves eased as the results started showing good signs due to superb displays and performances across the board from all. 60 Preston Harrier Athletes made up the team to conquer all, claiming 3 out of 3 wins, 5 out of 6 Individual Age Team Wins, 12 New Club Records, 11 out of 18 Athlete of the Match Awards, 37 Best Performances of the Season and to finish it off, 324 points ahead of our favourite rivals Blackpool and Fylde. Thank You to everyone below concerned, as it has been another enjoyable season, and really shows how good team spirit at Preston is (second to none). I am always happy to see new smiling faces as well as old, and to win again emphatically is rightly deserved for all the effort you put in.

A Big Thanks to Jonathon Harker, Rebekah Ingham and Katrina Hall who have been the backbone of the team and have given us and sportshall tremendous service over the years, but sadly have come to the end of their sportshall career, I will miss them but wish them all the best.

Another Big Thanks to all the Officials, Helpers and the Parents who have all supported Sportshall.

Paul M Brooke (Team Manager)

Ps. My Apologies to all the parents and athletes for not being able to sit and talk with them, with more responsibility in organising the meetings, results and events due to Peter Hancock stepping down after 10 solid good years service and dedication to Sportshall, but leaving a big hole for me to fill, but I will, and it makes it easier for me, as I thoroughly enjoy it.
