Last weekend was a busy weekend for Preston Harriers Triathletes, with five Harriers heading for Newby Hall, Ripon to take part in the Rubicon 70.3 triathlon. The event features a 2k river swim, followed by a 90k Bike section with a half marathon run to the finish. First Harrier home was Billy Johnstone in 5:29, with Steve Townhill (5:36), Steve Needham (5:43), Ian Palfrey (5:57) and Michael Brennand (6:24) completing the Harriers team. A trip to Austria beckoned for Kevin Hunt as he took part in the prestigious, Ironman 70.3 World Championships weekend at Zell-em-see, the lone Harriers entrant battling back superbly from a difficult swim section to finish in an impressive 5 hours 30 minutes.
