CEO announced for England Athletics
England Athletics, the new organisation responsible for the delivery of athletics in England, today announces the appointment of its Chief Executive.
Dr Alan Harrison is a board member of the National Probation Service and runs his own consulting company. He was formerly Head of Corporate Development at Remploy after a career at Courtaulds where he ran numerous different business operations. Alan is also an active graded timekeeper with Stratford Upon Avon AC.
He starts work for England Athletics in early December.
Peter Radcliffe, interim chair of England Athletics said, "After a rigorous process we are delighted Alan is to lead the establishment of England Athletics. He brings outstanding skills and experiences to the sport at this critical time."
Roger Draper, Chief Executive of Sport England said, "The skills and experience that Alan brings will drive the work of England Athletics forward and strongly position the sport to get more people involved as athletes, coaches, volunteers, and to increase England's success in Athletics over the coming years. The Foster report has clearly laid out what needs to happen for athletics in the future, and we wish Alan all the very best in his new appointment. Sport England looks forward to working closely and supporting Alan and his team of staff and volunteers in taking the work of England Athletics to the next level."
