David Rigby took part in a quality field in the Trafford 10k, with 20 runners under 31 mins. Rigby was 51st out of 668, in 33.09 and can take heart as he returns to full fitness.
At the Blackpool marathon, under gloomy skies, John Langhan finished in 3:36.46 and Helen Boyer in 4:36.43. Completing the half marathon at Blackpool was Roisin Turner (1:38.05), Sue Clemson (1:53.15), Mel Haworth (2:05.33) and Karlyn Forrest (2:10.51)
Over in sunny Yorkshire, where it was 17oC over a tough hilly Spenborough 20 mile race, Gema Adams won the ladies race (21st overall) in 2:19.17. Steve Young was 17th in 2:1540 and obtained a pb for the course. There were outings too for Steve Mort, Steve Townhill, Steve Jackson, Steve Needham, Eddy Little and Dolly Capstick – most of the runners being in training for a Spring marathon.
