An impressive total of 13 Preston Harriers were selected to represent Lancashire at the Aviva North West Regional Sportshall Final at Robin Park Sports Centre, Wigan on Saturday 25th February. The athletes were:
U13s: Ethan Darr, Jordan Darr, Caitlin Hornby, Georgia Humphreys, Chloe Johnson, Georgina Newcombe and George Reed.
U15s: Owen Hargrave, James Lane, Nadia Patel, Hannah Porter, Chloe Unsworth and Sophie Warden.
Ethan Darr picked up gold in the 6-lap race whilst his twin brother Jordan picked up a silver in the speed bounce. Ethan, Jordan and George Reed, together with the rest of the U13 Lancashire Boys team, will head to Birmingham in April to compete in the National Finals.
The U13 Girls, U15 Boys and U15 Girls all came 3rdoverall. In the U13 Girls category Caitlin Hornby picked up gold in the high jump whilst her team-mate Georgina Newcombe picked up bronze in the 6-lap race. Owen Hargrave picked up a total of 3 medals, a gold in the 8 Lap Paarlauf and bronzes in the 2-Lap race and standing long jump. Also in the U15 Boys James Lane picked up bronze for his shot performance. In the U15 girls Chloe Unsworth picked up gold in the vertical jump and silver in the 2-lap race. Nadia Patel picked up gold for her standing long jump and Sophie Warden picked up silver in the vertical jump.
